Cascada de las Animas is a natural paradise with over 3600 hectares of rugged mountains and valleys, rivers, springs and waterfalls. Nestled between high mountains and forests alongside the roaring rapids of the Maipo River, we are located in the Andes Mountains in Cajón del Maipo (Maipo Canyon) only 60 kilometers southeast of Santiago Chile. Our proximity to Santiago offers a welcome change for business travelers and tourists who are looking for a quick escape while visiting the metropolitan area, and the perfect stopover for those who wish to extend their stay before or after visiting other areas of Chile.

Originally a horse ranch, Cascada de las Animas is owned and operated by Chile's pioneering Astorga-Moreno family and has been in continuous operation since 1840. Handcrafted log cabins, a beautiful campground, a huge swimming pool, restaurant, sauna and massage rooms, game room, soccer field, children's playground and other amenities are all available on site for your enjoyment. Designed to help guests relax from the frantic pace of the modern world, the resort is filled with flower gardens, and quiet forest trails for exploring. For the individual who is looking for an active vacation, a wide range of adventure activities are at your front door including horse riding, trekking and hiking, whitewater rafting, zip line/canopy tour, and ropes course.

Cabins
Cascada de las Animas has a wide selection of cabin choices, sleeping anywhere from 1 to 8 people. Allof our cabins are unique - handcrafted with natural local materials (logs, stone, and clay) by local craftsman still skilled in these fine arts.

Each cabin is equipped with a kitchen and bathroom, and is heated with a glass fronted wood burning stove which provides a cheery romantic fire on the occasional cool night. Our full service restaurant is open all year and locatd a short walk away, but if you want to prepare your own meals, your kitchen comes fully equipped with pots and pans, plates, glassware and silverware. Beds come with pillows, sheets and blankets, and bathrooms with towels for each guest.

Our cabin guests have free use of our swimming pool and recreation building, and special reduced rates on guided whitewater rafting, horse back riding, zipline, and trekking tours in our 10,000 acre Nature Sanctuary.
